Eight Facets of Parental Alienation - 1: Campaign of Denigration

Campaigns of denigration describe the deliberate and systematic efforts of one parent to undermine the relationship between a child and the other parent. In essence, it involves one parent actively disparaging and belittling the other parent in the eyes of the child, often leading to estrangement and emotional distress. The alienating parent consistently speaks negatively about the other parent in the presence of the child. They may criticise the other parent's behaviour, character, or decisions. In extreme cases, the alienating parent may fabricate or exaggerate allegations of abuse or neglect. These false accusations not only damage the reputation of the targeted parent but also instil fear and distrust in the child's mind.
