What is CAFCASS?
CAFCASS, an acronym for the Children And Family Court Advisory and Support Service. The service reports to the Courts on the safeguarding and welfare of children in public and private law family proceedings.

So, what does that mean?

If your uncoupling involves children, then CAFCASS Family Court Advisors are going to be involved in the case. If you are struggling to agree suitable child arrangements with your estranged partner, then CAFCASS will prepare a report which makes recommendations on the most appropriate course of action and present those findings to the court.

The CAFCASS report will take into the wishes and opinions of the children where a child is 10 years or older.
